Katarina Jazbec is a visual artist working in film and photography. She was born in 1991, Slovenia, and is currently based in Rotterdam. She received her BA from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana and her MA in Photography from the St. Joost art academy in Breda (NL). Her works stem from a participatory process and explore the current questions of ethics, identity, freedom and social inequality. As an artist-in-residence at Het Wilde Weten she is working on The Unproductive Port, artistic research on the sensibility and agency of a working body inside the port of Rotterdam. The research connects to the core artistic principle of her practice – how to contribute to processes of empathy in society.
