What stories do the remaining working bodies tell about the port?
Join us for the open studio evening by Katarina Jazbec, a guest artist in residency here at Het Wilde Weten. In an informal setting, you’ll have a chance to get an insight into her artistic research on the sensibility and agency of a working body inside the port of Rotterdam. Katarina will share some of the video and photography snippets from her fieldwork during a two-month residency.
Katarina Jazbec is a visual artist working in film and photography. She was born in 1991, Slovenia, and is currently based in Rotterdam. She received her BA from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana and her MA in Photography from the St. Joost art academy in Breda (NL). Her works stem from a participatory process and explore the current questions of ethics, identity, freedom and social inequality. The artistic research with the working title The Unproductive Port, which she is currently working on at Het Wilde Weten, connects to the core artistic principle of her practice – how to contribute to processes of empathy in society.
