The Doppelgänger / Dubbelganger publication!

Doppelgänger / Dubbelganger is an exchange project between Opekta Ateliers and Het Wilde Weten, two similar artist run spaces in the sister cities of Cologne (D) and Rotterdam (NL).

Over the course of the year 2013, 26 artists from both spaces had the opportunity to stay in each other’s studio building and discover each other’s cities.

The results of this extensive exchange are presented in this publication.

When a body is sick it changes equilibrium, any method applied to cure it is actually perceived by the body as causing an imbalance initially, as an infection itself. This project seeks to generate new life, recreate a positive equilibrium, in a long abandoned space. Based on the Voronoi diagram, the furniture spreads its cells along the walls of the apartment embracing and purifying the entire space.
