Kunstenaarsinititatief Het Wilde Weten nodigde wederom kunstenaars en kleine, onafhankelijke uitgeverijen voor alweer de 3e editie van de WildeBoekenMarkt (WBM).

Op de WBM presenteren kunstenaars, een kleine uitgeverijen maar ook een academie en ontwerpstudio’s uit binnen- en buitenland hun meest recente, bijzondere, opwindende en unieke kunstboeken en zines.
WBM is dé gelegenheid om bijzondere kunst(enaars)boeken te bekijken, te kopen of te ruilen.

WBM 2012 omvat bijna 20 standhouders en 150 individuele inschrijvingen. De inzendingen komen uit vele landen in Europa, en uit de USA. De meeste publicaties zijn uitgebracht in 2011, maar een aantal zijn zelfs uitgebracht in 2012. Alle deelnemers zijn samengebracht in de WBMcatalogus.

Artist run space Het Wilde Weten invited artists, and small, independent publishers, to present their publications at the 3rth edition of the WildBookMarket (WBM).

At the WBM artists, independent publishers, an artacademy, and graphic design studio’s will present their most recent, special, exciting and unique art books and zines. WBM is the ideal opportunity to explore, buy or swap art(ists) books.

WBM 2012 includes nearly 20 exhibitors and 150 individual entries. The entries come from many countries in Europe, and from the USA. Most publications were released in 2011, but some are published this year!
All participants are united in the WBMcatalogue.

Artists books have an ambigous status as objects of art: Books to be looked at – art to be read. The presentation will question how artists books – as idea or concept, as medium or form, as strategy or practice – function as or in art practice. In other words: What can one ‘read’ from artists books in terms of research in the arts?
