Dear Rosa is part of an ongoing project by artist Tess Martin about our relationship to time and the past. By means of historical research, interviews and personal footage, this project seeks to explore the invisibility of women through the story of one ancestor from the Liguria region of Italy. This installation reflects on, and refracts, the link of this place to three time periods, and to three women in one family.

This piece involves an audio track on headphones in the English language (a typed version can be provided), and the experience takes about 10 minutes. This try-out exhibition is open for two days only, 11:00-19:00, with a reception in the evening of the first day.

Tess Martin has been a guest in the Projectruimte at Het Wilde Weten for the past three months and her research is supported by the Centrum voor Beeldende Kunst.
