GUEST: SIMON KINDLE TAKING CARE OF JESUS

In recent years, Simon Kindle has realized numerous site- or situation-specific works that differ greatly in terms of media. He likes to push projects forward in dialogue and accordingly repeatedly works with people from different disciplines and with different stories. The Liechtenstein artist currently lives in Lucerne (Switzerland) and was guest at Het Wilde Weten from September to December 2020.

Simon Kindle took care of a damaged sculpture during his time at Het Wilde Weten and worked together with children from the neighboring RK Maria Basisschool. The 4/5 year old students have worked several times on new heads for the Jesus sculpture which is on the outside wall of Het Wilde Weten facing their playground. The result is four heads that can be exchanged from time to time, questioning the iconographic representation of Jesus Christ in a humorous way.
