Angel Alley (36 min) – film: Petra van der Schoot, muziek: Piet-Jan van Rossum

Angel Alley is in 2005 oorspronkelijk geschreven en gemaakt voor Het Nieuw Trombone Collectief. In de oorspronkelijke live-versie waarmee een tournee langs de Nederlandse theaters volgde, werd de muziek door een 8 sporentape en leden van het Collectief uitgevoerd. Sinds 2006 is er een 8 sporen-tapeversie waarmee Angel Alley op verschillende festivals (2008 op festival ‘Dag in de Branding’) ook in het buitenland te zien is geweest en nu dus in Het Wilde Weten.

Petra van der Schoot (beeldend kunstenaar) en Piet-Jan van Rossum (componist) werken sinds 2003 regelmatig samen. Zo maakte Piet-Jan muziek bij haar installatie ‘En toen zag ik de zeebodem in de wolken weerspiegeld’ (2003), werkten zij samen in muziek/filmprojecten (alle terre assenti (2003), Angel Alley(2005)) en maakten zij onlangs samen de muziektheatervoorstelling ‘Aantekeningen van een Zoogdier’ (2008).

Bruno Listopad: “With this performance/installation I will attempt to explore the body outside the theatrical frames I am accustomed to work with when conceiving for regular theatre venues.”

The event will include:

Disorder The unfocused simultaneity of events.

Obscurity The rejection of dramaturgical triggers through the manipulation of the actions of the performers in time and space.

Unspectacular-ness A considerable disproportion between craftsmanship and the duration of the event, avoiding a tension bow.

Redundancy The hyper dramatisation of the event through hyperbolic deformation, voluntary disorientation and dysfunctional precariousness.

Indulgence A self-referential exploration detached from an attempt towards authenticity and transparency of the process.

Aleatoricism The development of “consciousness” through chance, disjunction of meanings, and illogical encounters with “other” sort of bodies, both material and virtual.

Timelessness The attempt at the exploration of “new” subjectivity through the production of a entity foreign to “itself”. Neither pre or post human, but out of joint with its time. “
